QuaRoutine: Beyond the window

QuaRoutine Pandemic Journals

In pandemic days my routine was completely changed. At first I was very nervous, worried about my elderly mother. She used to rag the house frantically every day. My life was to see life through the window and read news about COVID-19 on the Internet. Over time, the new routine adjusted. Now, my morning routine starts at 7:30 am. After breakfast, I do a self-care routine, with stretching exercises and instrumental music. Twice a week I go to face-to-face work and three times a week I work remotely. On the days that I don’t work I have time to have breakfast by the window and enjoy nature. My work routine is to do asynchronous activities for my students and attend to them, when they appear. I usually prepare activities on Monday. My study routine happens in the afternoon and at night. During the afternoon I study flute study techniques and make recordings. During the night I study English and take improvement courses. My shopping routine happens twice a month, when I need something. I use a mask, goggles and gloves, in addition to taking alcohol gel. My entertainment is to chat with friends on WhatsApp, play my flute, listen to concerts on the notebook, try recipes in the kitchen and admire the birds through my window in my spare time. I keep my religious practices on the internet and with individual moments in my home. It is very difficult to maintain a sleep routine because I like to produce at dawn. I usually sleep at 2 am. And so I go on surviving in the new normal.
